Appointments strengthen ad industry self-regulation
Two new expert members have joined the Board of Directors of the Advertising Standards Bureau (ASB) strengthening the delivery of a world-leading self-regulation system for advertising in Australia.
“The Board of Directors represents diverse industry sectors vital to the independence of the ASB to ensure standards of advertising are inline with community values,” said Mr David Scribner, Chair of the ASB.
“We are delighted to welcome two highly experienced and respected new Board members in Mr Vince Meoli and Ms Louise Eyres to the ASB Board of Directors,” Mr Scribner said.
Mr Meoli brings over 30 years industry skills and experience in the media advertising industry including as the current Chair of the Finance Committee for the Media Federation of Australia. Since 2014 he has been the Commercial Director with Hyland.
“Vince has worked with some of the largest global advertising groups in Australia and New Zealand and really understands the need for constant improvement in this dynamic advertising and communications space,” said Mr Scribner.
The appointment of Louise Eyres to the ASB Board also brings great industry expertise and international experience specifically in building strategic partnerships with stakeholders in diverse cultures, industries and economies.
“Louise has extensive marketing leadership experience across industrial, mining and financial services and now government over 20 years with ANZ Banking Group Limited and BHP Billiton, including six years as Group General Manager Marketing with the ANZ managing a multi-million dollar marketing program,” Mr Scribner said.
In October 2017, Louise was appointed General Manager Marketing, Customer Insights and Analytics/CMO to the Australian Sports Commission.
Mr Scribner said the role of the Board of Directors is to ensure the ASB meets its constitutional objective of administering a self-regulatory system to regulate advertising standards in Australia.
