Ad Standards runs public awareness campaigns to raise awareness of its role and the issues considered by the Community Panel.
People like you
Ad Standards' public education campaign 'People like you’ was launched in March 2014. It highlighted to the community that there is a place where people can raise their concerns about any advertising or marketing communication, and that complaints are considered by a Community Panel made up of 'people like you'.
To coincide with the release of the campaign, Ad Standards issued a series of fact sheets for each State and Territory in Australia, looking at complaint statistics for those areas:
- Australian Capital Territory
- New South Wales
- Northern Territory
- South Australia
- Western Australia
Tell someone who cares
Ad Standards' public education campaign ‘Tell someone who cares’ was launched in 2008. It highlighted to the community that there is a place where people can raise their concerns about any advertising or marketing communication.
‘Tell someone who cares’ advertisements appeared on television, in newspapers, outdoor media and on the radio.
