Community Panel Member
We’re looking for people that can represent community views to join the Ad Standards Community Panel. This is a paid role with no experience required.
The Ad Standards Community Panel plays an important role in the advertising industry. Members of the Community Panel consider complaints made about ads and decide if an advertiser has broken the rules. These rules are designed to ensure advertising meets community standards. They cover issues like language, discrimination, nudity and advertising to children.
Community Panel members come from all backgrounds and walks of life.
The Community Panel meets twice a month to review ads. Most meetings are held online – which means you can attend from anywhere in Australia. There is a modest payment for each meeting. Travel expenses will be met for any face-to-face meetings (four to five times a year).
Ad Standards values diversity and we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
The Community Panel is not a team of advertising experts. Membership is on an individual basis and members should not represent any specific industry, consumer, or special interest groups.
