Meet Matin, a strong and passionate person whose life story reflects a combination of many events. Matin, who is originally from Iran, immigrated to Australia when he was 7 years old. He settled in Adelaide and faced the difficulties of starting over as a refugee. Matin found happiness and comfort in fishing, fixing cars, and going to the gym as he grew up, three activities that have moulded him into the person he is now.
Matin got over the difficulties of adjusting to a new culture, finishing high school, and currently enrolling in TAFE to pursue a business degree. Matin’s pursuit of this academic endeavour is indicative of his resolve to lay a strong basis for future success. Outside of the classroom, Matin is an engaged member of the community, giving back and showing gratitude. Matin is a living example of the ability to overcome obstacles in life by being adaptive, determined, and involved in the community, whether through volunteering or supporting neighbourhood projects.
