Greg Wallace to lead Ad Standards as new Executive Director

Ad Standards welcomes Greg Wallace as its new Executive Director, effective August. With more than three decades of senior leadership experience spanning marketing, government, and the not-for-profit sector, Greg brings both strategic depth and strong community ties to the role.

Most recently, Greg served as the General Manager of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation, leading initiatives focused on social impact and community empowerment.

“Greg’s expertise in marketing, governance, and community engagement makes him an ideal leader for Ad Standards,” said Gillian Franklin, Chair of Ad Standards. “He joins us at a time when the advertising landscape is rapidly evolving, regulatory complexity is growing, and public expectations are higher than ever.”

“I’m honoured to join Ad Standards and lead a team dedicated to ensuring advertising reflects the values and attitudes of Australians,” said Greg Wallace. “I’m passionate about the power of advertising to inform, inspire and connect, and equally committed to maintaining high industry standards that foster trust and accountability.”

Beyond his corporate contributions, Greg is a dedicated ultra-marathon runner and organiser of the Coast to Kosciuszko 240km. Most recently he completed a 1400km run across Thailand to raise funds for Hands Across the Water, a testament to his resilience and commitment to meaningful impact.

Under Greg’s leadership, Ad Standards will deepen its connection with both industry and the community, ensuring advertising continues to reflect the standards and values of the public it serves.
