Cassi (they/them) is a trans Murri who was born and raised on Dhaurg Ngurra. They are a university student, studying a Bachelor of Arts with a focus on Sociology and Gender Studies. They work as a tutor for Indigenous students at their university and as a Peer Worker in suicide prevention. Their goal is to pursue a Master of Public Health upon completing their undergraduate degree and work towards more inclusive health practices and harm reduction in Australia. 

They have previously volunteered as a member on the Youth Action Council at Wear It Purple, with BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation, and as a Peer Educator for Take Blaktion. Currently, they sit on the Youth Advisory Group for Teach Us Consent and the Sexual, Family and Domestic Violence Advisory Board for ACON Health, consulting on campaigns and resources to address gendered violence and sexual violence.  They have proudly volunteered and marched with the First Nations Float for Mardi Gras facilitated by Jinny-Jane Smith and Estelle Clarke from the Aboriginal Project at ACON Health. 

They are very passionate about social justice and learning as much as possible. They have a keen interest in fat liberation and Indigenous futurisms. Finally, they enjoy reading fiction and watching TV shows – especially sci-fi.
