2024 Review of Operations

We’re pleased to share our latest Review of Operations, highlighting our work and achievements in 2024. 

Key statistics:

  • 4,182 complaints received about over 1000 different ads (11% more than 2023). 
  • 299 ads assessed by the Ad Standards Community Panel. 
  • 88 ads found in breach of one or more of the advertising codes. 
  • The top issue of concern was sex, sexuality and nudity (30% of complaints) followed by violence (15% of complaints) and health and safety (15% of complaints). 
  • Ads seen on free-to-air TV generated the most complaints (56%) followed by social media (11%) and on demand TV (6%). 
  • The most complained about product category was food and beverages (15%) followed by health products (9%) and gambling (8%).
